FROM SALY
Joal Fadiouth + Traditional villages 1 day
Discovered by the Portuguese in the fifteenth century, Joal is at the same time the birthplace of President Senghor, the first leader of independent Senegal. Visit to the port of the locality, one of the most important in the area and the Senghor Museum. Continuation to Fadiouth. Built on a heap of shells, this island is connected to the mainland by a wooden bridge that must be crossed by walking through its narrow alleys. Visit of church, the baobab of the village where a last tribute is paid to the dead before the burial, the cemetery that share Christians and Muslims. On return, you can visit by canoe (optional) the attics on stilts. Back to the hotel.

Bandia Game reserve ½ day
Departure from the hotel in an all-terrain vehicle to first admire a magnificent forest of Baobab before continuing towards Bandia. About 15 km from the Saly, this reserve is a place where one can observe the flora representative of the Sahel and immerse yourself in the Serere culture, with the baobabs having served as tombs for griots. In its enclosure, you will find buffaloes, monkeys, giraffes, gazelles, rhinoceroses, ostriches and other mammals in full freedom. The birds are not left out. Off-road Safari, with a specialized guide to the reserve. Back to the hotel.

The Lake Rose ½ day
Departure from the hotel to the north. Arrival at Pink Lake or Retba Lake, famous for the pink color of its waters when the sun is zenith. World famous for being the last stage of the Paris-Dakar during its visit to Africa, the lake is separated from the Atlantic Ocean by sand dunes. On off-road vehicles, ride to the lake to see the extraction of salt by means of woodpeckers by the inhabitants of the surrounding villages. Traditional villages ½ day
Departure from the hotel in a 4X4 vehicle to authentic villages. Through tracks, we will meet Serer and Peulh families to soak up their way of life where dominate traditions and superstition. Visit of schools or sanitary structures. With a little luck, we can fall into a typical or weekly market in the area. Back to the hotel.

The islands of Saloum 1 day
Departure to the natural region of Saloum. Arrival in Ndangane, a small fishing village. By canoe, means of transport in this part of the country, we will sneak through the bolongs to admire the beauty of the landscape formed of mangroves and palm trees. In this great space, part of the Saloum Delta Park, it is very common to see a wide variety of birds such as pelicans, egrets, cormorants or kingfishers. Dakar- Goree Island 1 day
Departure in the morning towards the pier of Dakar. Transfer aboard the boat and arrive at the island of Gorée. Inscribed on the world Heritage of Humanity, Gorée is notorious for the slave trade. Visit the House of slaves and the Historical Museum; walk through the streets, ballad that will allow us to appreciate the beauty of colonial houses. Continuation on the Castel from where one enjoys a panoramic view of the island. Lunch in a restaurant along the beach. Return to Dakar and visit the main sights of the city: The Independence Square, the presidential palace, the bubbling and colorful markets of the city, the handicraft market of Soumbedioune and the Monument of the African Renaissance. Back to the hotel.

An important commercial city in the called “Petite Côte”, Mbour is home to a very large market that we will have to visit before going to the largest artisanal port in the region. Here we will have an idea of the organisation of the fishing sector: the spectacle of the canoes arriving at the quay, the landing of the fish, the distribution and the marketing are no longer a secret for us.
